Prince Harry will be 'booed again' when he returns to UK as public is 'still in the same frame of mind': expert

Prince Harry can expect to be “booed again” when he visits the UK next week, according to the late Princess Diana’s former butler.

The Duke of Sussex is gearing up to return to London on May 8 for the first time since his visit to see his estranged father King Charles after his cancer diagnosis in February.

It’ll also be Harry’s first trip to his home soil since learning of his sister-in-law Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis in March.

And according to Paul Burrell, who worked for Diana for over 10 years until her sudden death in 1997, the public’s opinion has not shifted in favor of Harry, who shut the door on royal life in 2020.

“He is returning to St. Paul’s Cathedral, where he was last booed,” Burrell shared. “The public is still in the same frame of mind he may well get booed again.”

“They don’t have a place or a purpose here, after all, Harry is now a resident of the US, so he is almost American,” he added.

Burrell notes that the British public is “unhappy with how things have turned out.”

“I’m sure the king and queen aren’t either,” he adds. “William has drawn a line in the sand, there is no chance of Harry reconciling with his brother.

“There is a chance and the door is still open with his father and I’m sure there will be a meeting, but Camilla won’t be there because I don’t think there is any love lost between Camilla and Harry.”

Not only is Harry set to stay at a hotel after not being offered a royal residence, his estranged family members have no plans to see him during his brief visit to London.

It won’t be the first time the father of two stays at a hotel during a mad dash to the capital, which he opted to do during his blink-and-you-miss-it trip in February.

What’s more, Charles is reportedly “too busy” to meet up with his youngest son, bringing him “one step closer to isolation,” Burrell notes.

“I think they are just letting him get on with it now, I don’t think they are too happy about it but Harry is taking another step closer all the time to isolation,” he said on behalf of Slingo.

“Harry has pressed the self-destruct button and he is going ahead with what he thinks is right and I think he will come unstuck. I don’t think all their plans are going to pan out, I think there is a time scale to his destruction.”

None of this would have happened and there wouldn’t be this mess if Diana was still here because she would have cleared it up, but there is no one to do it and so it is going to rumble on because nobody is brave enough to stick their neck out and no one is strong enough for Harry to listen to,” Burrell added.
