Dave Grohl has one person on his side after he publicly disclosed that he cheated on his wife and welcomed a child with another woman.
Jennifer Finch, the 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman’s ex-girlfriend, came to his defense following the baby bombshell.
She told TMZ that Grohl is doing everything he can to make it right with his wife, Jordyn Blum, whom he married in 2003, and their three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
Finch was in the punk rock band L7 and dated the “Best of You” singer in the ’90s. She claimed they’ve remained tight since their breakup.
She called Grohl a top-tier dad and friend while alleging she’s been by his side and knows the family dynamics because she toured with them recently.
In June 2023, the Foo Fighters announced a five-city stadium tour in the United Kingdom. They later added a date and extended the tour with a 10-city North American leg in the summer of 2024.
Don’t expect Grohl’s ex to air out his dirty laundry anytime soon.
Finch said she’ll hold the details of what she knows close to her chest until his youngest — the unveiled infant — turns 18.
Grohl dropped the baby bombshell earlier this week, revealing he cheated on his wife and welcomed a daughter with someone else.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl shared in a statement via Instagram on Tuesday, September 10. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,” he concluded.
Grohl’s rep told The Post that the musician had no additional comment.
While the rocker made it clear that he hopes to repair his family dynamic, sources told People he retained a divorce attorney before making the baby announcement.
Interestingly enough, his wife was spotted without her wedding ring in August — just weeks before his public confession; however, she was with him at the Wimbledon tennis championships on July 2.
Blum has been quiet about her husband’s infidelity, but his oldest child appears to have deleted her Instagram profile amid the drama.
Grohl, on the other hand, has not shied away from addressing the controversy. After a photo of an infant named Roxie Junie Grohl went viral, which the Instagram user claimed was the singer’s daughter, Grohl’s rep told TMZ that the image was fake.
“My sweet Roxie Junie Grohl, being your mama has already been the most incredible experience of my life,” the photo was captioned. “Every day, I fall more in love with you and this new role. Your daddy was by my side through the entire pregnancy, making sure we were both taken care of, and I’m so grateful for his love and support.”
As much as I want to share my joy with the world, I also need to protect our privacy right now,” the caption continued. “I’m happy that everyone knows about you, though, because you are such a special part of my life.”
